If someday...

If someday you write a poem, which goes like this -

A B C
I love thee
Please take me
I will make you happy

and, someone comes and tells you -
"You write really good, you are so talented! Come, let us promote your talent, let us start our own publishing house to publish your work."
Then -
Know that you have come across one of the Talent Hunting Predators, who use this excuse only to make friends with you [and how many more you cannot guess].
Ask me, I have been through this.

Remember,
your talent is like a fetus in the womb, allow it to be exposed to the world before it is time and, you will make its survival difficult.
Let the talent grow in the right enviroment. Let it gain the required nourishment and, then prepare it for delivery into the publishing world.

My two cents.

  6. Well said and good message, Arti

I have been reading and writing for until 40... keeping my writing restricted to ghost writing since 2003...we get only critical reviews there from the authors....they wont write, but want our brains to work for them...and then correct our thinking the way they want...

But they would promote paying better each time..so it was worthy...

But now my problem is -- I feel a mixture when I comment at others...with the young ones I feel the need to promote with kindness...

with contemperories and older..i have an inclination to criticise...

I am so used to it that I thought its a process of growth...but no, they all need just kind promotion...Now I know that...and mostly only do that...with ones I know its okay, a friendly criticism works :)

  10. Hi Devika!

A lot depends on how you say it...
Strong criticism might discourage someone and, on the other hand only praising would put a stop to their possible growth as a writer!

    Thanks

I think I did pretty well, considering I started out with nothing but a bunch of blank paper.
