Penning Down Thoughts - VIII - Predictions

When we watch a daily soap on television, after we watch a scene or a day's episode, we can easily predict what would be coming next. "This has happened until now; now that will happen"
Why is it not possible to predict "what will happen next" in real life?
Sometimes, we have a hunch; but mostly, future is unpredictable. How much ever we say that we can shape our own future, it is not always possible. What if there are others involved in that future. They shape theirs, we shape ours, outcome might not be the same. Does it not mean, in the end, that we cannot really do anything about it?
