rise

Her pain was hers to bear
The cross she carried on her shoulder
She bled
Raw feelings on paper
People watched
People read
Some understood her
Some judged her
A few related to the pain
And identified with her

Her pain was hers to bear
The cross she carried on her shoulder -
With confidence and pride.
It was a part of her life
She could not get rid of
So, she accepted it with a smile
‘Bring it on’ was the attitude she had
Which inspired the people
Who related to the pain and
They learned to carry their crosses.

 The drooping shoulders straightened
The frown on the face was gone,
Sometimes, replaced with a smile
If she could do it,
They knew they could, too.
 And -
That’s why she exposed her vulnerable self to others
To infuse confidence in them
Give them the strength to bear their pain.
There is no shame in being vulnerable
To sit alone and cry
That was one part of the message in her words -
And then other part was about -
Rising like a Phoenix
