I Cried Tonight ...

I cried tonight
For some character of the movie
But the truth is,
It was just an excuse.
The crying was more for me
As if releasing some unknown & deep buried ache
That I seemed to be ignoring all this time.
I cried tonight
And I must tell you -
It felt good.

We find it so wrong and maybe embarrassing, too
To let out the emotions out into the open -
To cry even when we are suffering from within.
But the truth is, we must allow -
Let them out, let the tears flow -
Wet cheeks can be wiped clean ...
Salt on the smiling lips later,
Is a wonderful feeling to know.

Yes, I cried tonight -
But I am ashamed, I needed an excuse to.
