go on...

sometimes
nothing seems worth the effort
yet she keeps going on
breathe in
breathe out
sleep, wake up, eat, shit
stand up, walk, sit down
chores.
new day.
repeat.

somewhere
in between the monotony
are randomly dispersed moments
that make it all worth
momentarily.
at times
she feels those moments
slipping like sand from her grip
she holds on, still -
to the moments that remain
the sand particles stuck to her palm.

breathe in
breathe out
go on -
keep going on.
